On Saturday the race started with Latvian championships in slalom skateboarding! In kids group the winner was Alise Salicka from Liepāja, second Mare Belta, but 3rd Patriks Jostmanis.

Latvian slalom junior champion 2013 is Toms Dreiblats and ladies champion – Elīza Marija Gailīte.

In OPEN group 3rd year in a row Gustavs Gailītis become the champion with Salvis Skrainis in 2nd and Dreiblats in 3rd.

In the afternoon the last race of Latvian downhill longboarding series 2013 happened with a new record of racers with guests from Lithuania, Belarus and Moldova! After 2 hours with 8 practice runs the qualification started – 5th race in a row Gustavs Gailītis won the qualification with Lukas Kirkilionis from Lithuania (Vilnius) in a close second place. 3rd was Marks Kiseļovs but 4th Alvils Bijons. Last race winner Āris Muitinieks was just behind in 5th and Dreiblats in 6th.

Before the OPEN group racing the finals were held also for Masters, women and juniors (it all happened late in the evening with artificial lighting). In Masters final Lukas Kirkilionis dominated the race taking well deserved win – second was fastest Latvian Artjoms Smirnovs, 3rd another Lithuanian Erikas Jaksiboga, but 4th Ģirts Vārtiņš.

In ladies group Elīza Marija Gailīte won, leaving Elza Volonte in 2nd and Liene Bērziņa in 3rd. Just after the the podium finishers was Arta Skudrēna and Kitija Blūma. To note – last race winner Zhanna Ramanovich from Belarus had to default from the race because of the injury – we wish her quick recovery & hope to see her back in Latvian races next year!).

In junior group Toms Dreiblats was unstoppable leaving Kārlis Karlsons in 2nd, Ernests Liepiņš in 3rd and Jānis Geisters in 4th.

OPEN group was full with intense heats – in small final Kārlis Karlsons won finishing the race in 5th, with Kaspars Balamovskis in 6th, Oleg Ramanovich in 7th and Einārs Lansmanis in 8th – for him it was the first downhill race.

On the start line of the big final all the top 4 qualifiers competed for the win. After the first part of the race Gailītis was in the lead, but Lithuanian longboarder Kirkilionis managed to overtake him. In a super tight finish Gailītis was announced the winner, Kirkilionis 2nd (just like in the first race of the year), leaving Kiseļovs in 3rd and Bijons in 4th.

On Sunday after the award ceremony for downhill the first skate&shoot event happened – riders had to ride a bit of downhill and flat, then arrive at the shooting range and shoot the targets which were 50m away!

In ladies group Liene Bērziņa managed to win, Elīza Gailīte was close behind, but right after her was Arta Skudrēna.

In men group Alberts Viegliņš was the winner. Junior rider Ernests Liepiņš took silver, but Āris Muitinieks finished the top3.

Latvian downhill longboarding series 2013 racing part has finished – in the name of the organizers we say big THANK YOU for all the riders, their understanding friends and relatives, and also to all the sponsors ! ! !
