Last race of the year is here – ‘’GiGa Olympics’’

On 23-24 September in Cēsis Olympic center ‘’Priekuļi’’ the last race of Latvian downhill longboarding series 2017 will be held. ‘’GiGa Olympics’’ event will be made in honor of godfather of Latvian skateboarding – Gints Gailītis.

In the event we will have longboard slalom competition, slide jam and downhill race.

Downhill course Is quite easy but narrow – top riders will reach speeds up to 60km/h. Course –

Saturday, 23th September
12:00-12:10 longboard slalom re-registration
12:15-12:35 longboard slalom practice
12:40-13:30 longboard slalom race
13:40-13:55 downhill re-registration and riders meeting
14:00-15:30 practice runs
15:35-16:30 qualification
16:45-17:30 slide jam

Sunday, 24th September
11:00-12:00 practice runs
12:10-14:00 finals
14:30 award ceremony

Entry fee for two day event (including event t-shirt):
Juniors: 25 Eur
Others: 35 Eur
If you register after 20th September 23:59: + 10 Eur
If you attend only one day, entry fee stays the same.

Madona longboard challenge 2015!

Latvian longboarding series will continue with ‘’Madona longboard challenge 2015’’ on 6-7th June. Last year riders from Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Russia & Italy took part, so this year it will be international race too!

On the first day downhill event will happen – practice runs, qualification and finals. On second day skate&shoot and slide contest will take place.

The event will start on Saturday at 13:00 with practice runs, finals will finish at around 20:00.

Award ceremony on Sunday will end approximetly at 14:30 (more detailed Schedule will be published on the race week).

Entry fee (includes entry to all races + riders t-shirt):

Juniors – 15 Eur

Others – 25 Eur

Register after 02.06.2015. + 5 Eur

Latvian downhill longboarding racing season is in its peak – 3rd out of 4 rounds will happen on 24-25th of August, in the lovely Cesis Olympic center ‘’Priekuļi’’ skiing and biathlon complex! Fight for higher place in seasons overall standings will be tougher than ever – situation after 2 rounds – standings. This time not only the best and fastest local longboarders will compete but also guests from Belarus, Estonia and Lithuania! We can expect as usual great races in open, masters, ladies and junior groups!

Although the main event in this competition will be downhill race on Sunday, there will also be Speed trap and Slide contests.

Speed trap – riders who would be signed up for speed trap will have 3 runs down the steep side of Saules kalns measured by radar.

Slide contest – riders who would be signed up for slide will have 3 runs down the steep side of Saules kalns, where they would need to make the slides that are obligatory and also a bit freestyle.

Also every participant will have a chance to win a price in a prediction contest – in the morning of race day, based on their knowledge and qualification results everybody will be able to predict the top riders in the race – who gets the closest prediction wins!
