Latvian downhill longboarding series 2015 powered by Riposhop.lv has officialy finished!
Last weekend fastest riders from Latvia & Estonia gathered for the annual and legendary ‘’Priekuļi cup 2015’’!
This year organizers added a bonus – extra 90degree turn at the end of the course.
On the first day in qualification Toms Dreiblats grabbed #1 spot, but Kaspars Balamovskis, Mārtiņš Kivlinieks, Gustavs Zēgners & Gustavs Gailītis were all less than 1 second behind. Fastest from Estonian riders was Karli Kontkar who qualified 10th.
After the qualis a slide jam was held – Zēgners got the Slide King title, but Elza Volonte was the Slide Queen.
On the fina day some epic racing happened – in junior group Zēgners took the win, fallowed by Bruno Jānis Skrastiņš. In women group Lauma Stepanova got her 3rd win of the year, closely fallowed by Elīza Marija Gailīte and Arta Skudrēna. In Masters Ģirts Vārtiņš showed a dominanting performance by taking the win and series champion title in Masters group! 2nd was Edžus Konošonoks and 3rd Arguts Skudrēns.
In Open group an amazing final happened and 4th time in 5 years there was a crash in the final – after the start Dreiblats was in the lead fallowed by Kivlinieks, Gailītis and Marks Kiseļovs. Soon Kivlinieks took the lead, but on the long straight Gailitis overtook them both. Before the last turn Kivlinieks was next to Gailītis but had to take bad line and ended up crashing taking out also Dreiblats and Kiseļovs. Gailītis won, Kivlinieks got 2nd and Dreiblats 3rd. For Gailītis it was 3rd win in a row and 16th podium in a row at Latvian downhill longboarding series history!
